APPLICATION for
HURRICANE BERYL RELIEF
for Carriacou & Petite Martinique  

Hurricane Beryl Relief

Grants of £500 or £600 sterling will be available for financial aid for victims of Hurricane Beryl.

Who Can Apply 

Applications are open to residents of Carriacou and Petite Martinique whose homes were badly damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Beryl on 1st July 2024.

​

Applicants must be a permanent resident of Carriacou or Petite Martinique and application must be for their main home.


Applications should be submitted in the name of the legal owner of the property.

If you are not the legal owner you may still be able to apply. See below,  Application Requirements, point 6.

Application Deadline 
The closing date for applications is 31st January 2025.

Application Requirements

Applications must include the following:

  1. A written, signed statement of approximately 350 to 400 words, explaining why the grant  is needed and how the funds will be spent. Handwritten submissions must be legible; otherwise, your application may not be processed.
     

  2. A quotation from a builder, including a breakdown of required materials, their cost , and cost of labor.** 
     

  3. Photographs and a short video (up to 3 minutes long) showing the extent of the damage to your home.
     

  4. Submit the above together with:
    (a) Applicant’s full name.
    (b) Location of the damaged property in Carriacou or Petite Martinique.
    (c) Applicant’s email address (or the email of someone submitting on their behalf).
    (d) Applicant’s contact number.
    (e) Applicant’s WhatsApp number, if different from contact number.
    (f)  Applicant’s employment status (Employed or Unemployed).
    (g) The name of employer (if employed).

     

  5. Evidence that you are the legal owner of the damaged property (photocopy or screenshot).
     

  6. If you are not the legal owner, please provide the following information:
    (a) Name of the legal owner of the property. 
    (b) Confirmation that you have permission or authority to occupy the property.
    (c) How long have you lived at the property.
    (d) Who is responsible for repairing and rebuilding the property.
    (e) Who is responsible for replacing items within the property.

     

​Applicants may​ also submit any additional information not specifically requested, but believed relevant to show they are eligible to receive grant payment in their names for the damaged property.

**Regarding point 2 above:  it’s important to specify if any works have already been completed and which parts of the project still require funding. This information could be helpful if the charity is aware of any trade-persons visiting from the UK, who may be willing to volunteer their time and labour to assist hurricane victims.

Ensure all required documents and details are submitted by the deadline. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered. If you are in the process of gathering the above requested information but need more time to complete, please send what details you have so far to, mother.noel.charity@gmail.com, and include a note to say  further information will follow.

On receipt of your application, the trustees of Mother Noel Charity may request additional information. 

 

While we wish we could assist everyone, our resources are limited. We remain committed to ongoing fundraising efforts and, subject to the availability of funds, hope to be able to continue our Hurricane relief support.
